The new BMW R 1250 GS offers an air/liquid-cooled four-stroke flat twin engine with a double overhead camshaft, one balance shaft, and a variable engine timing system. It produces 136 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. The motorcycle offers a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox with helical gear teeth and a wet clutch with an anti-hopping function and hydraulic activation to improve performance. In addition, multiple riding modes are available, including a new Eco ride mode with moderate engine torque limitation and a soft throttle map which enhances fuel efficiency. The motorcycle can be equipped with Riding Modes Pro, including configurable riding modes and engine braking control to give more control over the bike.
