BMW Motorrad introduces the new S 1000 XR, offering a sleeker design, optimized ergonomics, enhanced performance, and more standard and optional motorcycle features. The new S 1000 XR is a refined version of the thriving long-distance sports bike and multiple test champion.
The new S 1000 XR features a redesigned in-line 4-cylinder engine that allows a seamless and powerful torque delivery and a coordinated power characteristic that facilitates excellent readability. BMW Motorrad increased the engine power on the S 1000 XR compared to the predecessor model. Hence, it delivers up to 125 kW (170 hp) at an unaltered nominal engine speed of 11,000 rpm and a max torque of 114Nm @ 9,250 rpm. The S 1000 XR’s flow-optimized geometry of the intake channels and a custom-built mapping are responsible for its performance increase.
BMW Motorrad completely redesigned the seat of the long-distance S 1000 XR motorcycle for better freedom of movement, most notably during high-performance journeys through country roads and race tracks. The BMW S 1000 XR motorcycle is available with an extra 10 mm seat height, providing more space for the buttocks. You can easily adjust the seating position based on the riding conditions. There are three different seat heights available for the S 1000 XR. Consequently, the improved ergonomics aids better control and maneuvering ease on any road.
The S 1000 XR design features beneficial redesign elements such as new side panels and air intakes on the rear section, offering a more dynamic look. Also, the previously black-painted “beak” fender now has the same color as the body, and the radiator trim is now available with a textured surface.

The Headlight Pro is a part of the standard equipment, providing extra safety during night travels with its adaptive turning light. This feature allows better road illumination in corners. It is also available with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) to enable better vehicle recognition during the day.
