BMW Motorrad is introducing a range of updates for the 2027 model year, with changes spanning colors, equipment packages, touring features, and performance-focused upgrades. For riders in Pomona, CA, the 2027 lineup brings new ways to configure BMW motorcycles for sport riding, touring, adventure, and everyday road use.
BMW Motorrad’s 2027 model year updates focus on expanded equipment choices, new colors, revised packages, and select performance enhancements. The updated configurations became available to order through BMW Motorrad partners beginning in August 2026.
One of the most significant technical updates arrives on the BMW M 1000 RR. The 2027 model receives a third-generation M Motorsport frame with revised flex characteristics, reduced wall thickness, and approximately 1.3 kilograms of weight reduction. BMW says the revised frame is designed to balance stiffness and flexibility for chassis performance and grip. M Forged Wheels are also standard, while M Carbon Wheels become an alternative.
The BMW S 1000 RR receives a new Style Edition M Sport configuration for 2027. It features Blackstorm Metallic with M Motorsport graphics, along with a tinted windscreen and M Forged Wheels. The previous Sport/Bluestone Metallic color is discontinued.
BMW also adds a USB charging port to the Dynamic Package and Edition M Sport configuration. The M Package receives updated equipment content, with M Forged Wheels included and M Carbon Wheels available as an alternative.
BMW’s M motorcycle lineup receives several equipment-focused changes for 2027. The M 1000 RR introduces new M Track Package configurations, while the M 1000 R and M 1000 XR also receive new M Track Package and M Track Package II options.
Depending on the model and package, these configurations can include equipment such as the M Laptrigger, Carbon Package, M Billet Package, M Endurance Chain, and M Carbon Wheels. The new package structure replaces the previous M Competition Package on applicable models.
The M 1000 XR also receives updated graphics and a new Aurelius Green Metallic color for the 2027 model year in the U.S. lineup.
The F 900 R and F 900 XR receive equipment changes for 2027. The Comfort Package on both models gains the M Endurance Chain, providing another factory equipment option for riders looking to configure these middleweight motorcycles for extended road use.
The F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure continue with their 895cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engines, while the 2027 U.S. lineup retains features such as BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, TFT connectivity, and full LED lighting.
The R series also receives several equipment and appearance updates. The R 1300 R gains factory availability for left- and right-side case holders, while a new Touring Package combines the case holders with central locking and a center stand.
The R 1300 RS can also be equipped with factory-installed left- and right-side case holders on the Style Performance configuration.
The R 12 G/S receives a new Frozen Brooklyn Grey Metallic color for its Option 719 configurations, replacing the previous Sand Rover Matte color. In the U.S., the R 12 nineT and R 12 S also receive Imperial Blue Metallic as a new color option, while Connected Ride Control becomes part of their Premium Package.
BMW’s six-cylinder K 1600 touring motorcycles receive new styling choices for 2027. Imperial Blue Metallic becomes available for Style Edition II configurations across the K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 Bagger, and Grand America.
The K 1600 GTL also receives additional Option 719 equipment choices, including a new black bench seat and forged wheels.
